The Na’vi River Journey is a dark ride that allows you to glide through in small boats to experience the sights and sounds of Pandora at night. Although it’s a dark ride, there are glowing plants, caverns and animals everywhere you look. It’s one of the most visually appealing dark rides ever produced at Walt Disney World.
We saw the ride during our Passholder Preview before the park opened. The queue is long and winding, but thankfully has plenty of fans to keep some ventilation going while you’re waiting to enter the ride.
If you’re looking for a place to cool down in Pandora, choose the Na’vi River Journey. The air conditioning works very well and a peaceful trip down a river is just the thing to escape the summer heat.
Long the way, you’l catch some glimpses of the Na’vi as they walk alongside the river. You eventually encounter a Na’vi shaman singing and using the local plants as drums. The song is likely to replace “It’s a Small World” in your mind as the song you just can’t get out of your head.
The ride isn’t as long as I would have liked, but it’s a nice place to cool down and really is very interesting to see and hear.
